# Usage

Controls for holding, throwing, placing and picking up items.

## Dropping an item

Open your inventory and drag an item onto the ground, exactly like a normal ox\_inventory drop. Instead of the default bag, the inventory closes and the item appears **in your hand** (other players see it too).

{% hint style="info" %}
The item stays in your inventory until you actually throw or place it. If you put it away, nothing is lost.
{% endhint %}

## While holding an item

| Key   | Action                                     |
| ----- | ------------------------------------------ |
| `LMB` | Throw. A yellow line shows the trajectory. |
| `E`   | Enter place mode                           |
| `X`   | Put the item back                          |

## Place mode

A transparent preview of the prop follows where you are looking.

| Key         | Action                                                   |
| ----------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| `SCROLL`    | Rotate                                                   |
| `E` | Place the item (or hand it over when aiming at a player) |
| `BACKSPACE` | Back to holding                                          |

When you aim at another player, a green marker appears above their head – press `E` to hand them the item directly.

## Picking items up

Use **ox\_target** on the item:

* **Pick up** – takes the whole stack
* **Pick up some** – choose an amount (only shown for stacks)

Items disappear automatically after the configured lifetime.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://rayn-scripts.gitbook.io/rayn-scripts-docs/rayn_itemdrops/usage.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
